A Touching Letter
I've been at the same hotel on Koh Phangan for a week now and I've been fortunate enough to find a place that is family run and the entire staff is incredibly helpful (unlike that other hotel I stayed in last week).

Anyhoo, the owner and I have chat quite a few times and she's given me free internet access for the week (everyone else has to pay, yay for me). There's this one particular waiter who talks to me at breakfast every day who is learning English and is very charming.

Tonight my phone rings and it's him, Zo, he says he has a letter for me. I asked if I could pick it up in the morning at breakfast and he said, no, it'd be too late... so he delivered it personally to my door step and walked away.

This is what it said,

"Hi, Ms. Tracy,
How is everything staying here with you. I hope you are well and happy. As for me I'm usually busy with my work and thinking on my weakness in English.
Now, I'm so lucky to meet you. Because you are always active and very clever, and you encouraged me kindly. I really tell you that your eyes are kind, your words are as sweet as honey.
There is one thing I'd like to demand you in my mind. Please stay again for two more days in our resort. I want to learn from you about English and there are many things that I would like to tell you. In fact, you are a person who has influenced me and the kind of person I admire.
If I had a lot of money, I will visit to America with you and I want to do something for my life in your country.
Ms. Tracy, would you mind telling me about your life. I want to listen and try to imitate you.
Take care of yourself.
Yours Lovingly, Boy Zo."

I sat on my step with the note in my hand for about five minutes and got tears in my eyes.

The note totally touched me and among the many other reasons that I'm happy I took this trip, this letter made the entire trip completely worth while.
